The primary target audience for the Deep Energy Retrofit (DER) Certificate includes: Early-career professionals (both white and blue collar) entering the construction, trades, and energy sectors. This includes graduates of high school, technical diploma programs, and those in entry-level positions in construction, trades, and related industries. Skilled tradespeople seeking to transition into retrofit-focused roles.

New Canadians/immigrants with prior experience in construction, architecture, engineering, or related technical fields who want Canadian-context retrofit expertise. Energy advisors, home inspectors, site supervisors, and project managers looking to expand into deep energy retrofit specialization.

The individual courses progressively build knowledge:
SNRG 004: Prepares learners for entry-level technical roles like Green Home Technician or Retrofit Assistant.
SNRG 005: Expands into DER Assistant or Community Retrofit Coordinator roles.
SNRG 006: Prepares learners for DER Feasibility Planner or Energy Auditor positions.
SNRG 007: Moves into planning and consulting roles such as DER Planner/Consultant.
SNRG 008: Focuses on advanced on-site roles such as Site Coordinator, Installer, or Quality Inspector.
By structuring the program sequentially, graduates finish with a full suite of technical, assessment, planning, and execution skills , positioning them for mid-to-senior-level DER-focused jobs.
