SAIT and Maple Respiratory Group (MRG) have partnered up to co-develop and offer the Professional Respiratory Educator Program (PREP). This 40-hour program prepares individuals who wish to challenge the Certified Respiratory Educator (CRE) credentialing exam.
The CRE credential recognizes healthcare professionals who provide respiratory education to their clients. Upon receiving this credential, you’ll have the competencies to provide comprehensive, evidence-informed care in asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
Start your credentialing path with PREP, a non-credit program approved for delivery by the Canadian Network for Respiratory Care (CNRC) health education courses.
You’ll gain the knowledge you need to challenge the CRE exam with 40 hours of guided online instruction supported by e-Learning content delivered both synchronously and asynchronously. The PREP courses cover various areas such as Foundational Health Education and Promotion, Communication, Educational Interventions, Resource Management, Professional Practice, Program Evaluation, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Asthma, Spirometry and Tobacco Cessation.
SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut'ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh'kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
