Looking for a competitive edge to advance your career in the construction industry?

If you are a construction management professional working in Canada, you can earn valuable industry certification while also completing a SAIT credential.

The Canadian Construction Association’s (CCA) Gold Seal Certification program is Canada’s recognized industry standard for the certification of estimators, foremen, owner's construction managers, project managers, safety coordinators and superintendents working in the industrial, commercial, institutional and civil infrastructure sectors. Applicants to CCA’s Gold Seal Certified program require a combination of industry experience, education and training to challenge the Gold Seal exam and be certified.

Being Gold Seal Certified means you have attained the highest level of competence and excellence in the industry, have proven experience and stand out as a leader committed to quality, continuous learning and skill development. In short, you stand out and gain a professional advantage over your competition.

SAIT is an accredited training provider for the Gold Seal Certification program. We offer pre-approved construction management and related business & technical courses that meet the national Gold Seal curriculum standard. Our courses are guaranteed towards your Gold Seal training credit requirements for the Gold Seal Certified and continuing education credits for Professional, Gold Seal Certified (P.GSC) certifications.

Learn more about the Gold Seal Certification program requirements including: program eligibility, enrollment, attaining Gold Seal credits and submitting your GSC application, writing the Gold Seal exam and more. Note that from the day CCA approves you as a Gold Seal Intern, you’ll have up to five years to meet the program requirements, submit your GSC application and be approved to challenge the Gold Seal exam.

How to earn Gold Seal training credits

Once you are qualified by CCA as a Gold Seal Intern, and have understood the competency and credit requirements you specifically need (based on your completion of the self-assessment tools provided by CCA), you’ll have a better idea which accredited SAIT courses you need and want to take. Note the CCA will recognize the same training credit amount for a course regardless of whether you take it online asynchronously, virtually or face-to-face. One Gold Seal training credit is allocated per 6 hours of training per course, up to a maximum of 10 credits per course. Lunch/break times are not included.

If you need detailed course information (i.e., course outlines) or need help accessing your SAIT enrollment history or student transcript, contact conedadvising@sait.ca.

Ask us how you can potentially apply the courses you’re taking for Gold Seal to earn a SAIT credential, or possibly other industry certification such as Blue Seal or Project Management Professional (PMP®).
