Course Description

The Sound Synthesis course will teach you how to effectively program any hardware or software synthesizer, based on an understanding of the general concepts so you can create and use custom sounds in your audio productions.

This course includes a general history of the evolution of synthesizers and electronic music. You'll be taken step-by-step through each function of the synthesizer, gaining knowledge of operation and purpose for each section.

Using modulation sources and destinations to add complexity to sound, you'll then construct a short musical composition using the sounds you created.
