This course will consider the legal and management issues, and practices that employers should keep in mind when terminating or dismissing employees. You will explore the concept of "just cause" and the common law concept of "reasonable notice of termination." You will explore the scenario where an employer dismisses an employee without just cause, why employers must consider both statutory and common-law reasonable notice periods and the potential liability to the company if they get it wrong.
