Course Description

NOTE: Thanks for your interest. This course is on hold while we complete construction on our solar facility. Check back early spring 2023 for course dates.

In this course, you'll explore aspects involved in the design, sizing and installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. You'll learn about permits, restrictions, logistical site considerations, system sizing, factors affecting solar PV output and aspects involved with the CEC relating to the installation. You will see equipment up-close to better understand functioning, dismantling and roof-top system inspections. You'll also see real-world applications of solar PV systems.

This course is best for those who are certified Journeyperson electricians however, individuals currently working in the electrical field with a working knowledge of electrical systems and the Canadian electrical code are welcome. This course is not intended for general interest, homeowners, or individuals without electrical knowledge looking to install solar photovoltaics.
