Measurement Lab will allow you to take the knowledge you have gained in previous courses and put it into the practical use in the SAIT's state-of-the-art Flow and Wellsite labs. You will have an opportunity to apply your knowledge on real devices via operating, calibrating and verifying meters that measure live fluids. Some of the lab activities include: bench calibration of pressure transmitter, operation of selected flow instruments, collection of flow, temperature and pressure measurement, interpretation of drawings and datasheet wire tracing exercise. This final course is the practical part of the Hydrocarbon Measurement Certificate that enhances your applied learning of the Hydrocarbon Measurement program.
Students are required to take an online Safety Orientation course (SAFE-160) prior to starting the course & provide printed proof of completion on the first day of the lab.
