PWEN 103 - First Class Power Engineering A1
Course Description
Our 72-hour online First Class Power Engineering course will provide you with the supplemental education you may need to be successful in writing your Government A1 exam. You'll cover the following topics:
- rankine and Brayton cycles
- thermodynamics of steam
- steady flow process calculations
- thermodynamics of perfect gases
- expansion and heat transfer
- refrigeration calculations
As PWEN 103 cannot be used as a credit towards work experience or as a credit towards a SAIT certificate, you must complete all eight sections to receive work experience credit and a certificate for your learning:
- A1, A2, A3, A4
- B1, B2, B3, B4
If you are seeking credit in place of work experience, please contact your provincial boiler's branch to ensure our courses are accepted. You will have four months to complete this course, with a final exam at the end.
Note: Registration for this course closes two days before the course start date.
Prerequisites
To register you must be a holder of a valid Provincial Power Engineering Second Class Certificate.
PWEN 116, PWEN 117, PWEN 126, PWEN 127, PWEN 136 and PWEN 137 are the mandatory requirements for this course. You are required to show proof of completion by emailing conedadvising@sait.ca.
Recommendations
