Course Description

This Rail Car Mover Operator course is designed for personnel who will operate a rail car mover in an industrial switching facility. Additional on the job training may be required as deemed necessary by the company to ensure competency.

Rail Car Mover Operator course content includes: Switching Operation Fatalities Analysis (SOFA), Rail Cars, Riding and Crossing Over Cars, Basic Air Brakes and Hand Brakes, Track, Handling Switches and Derails, Switching, Car Air Brake Systems, Rail Car Mover Safety, Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR) and Alberta Industrial Rail Operating Rules (IROR).
