Course Description

Knowing how to read financial statements and how decisions are made will enhance your abilities to analyze accounting and financial information in a business environment, and to better communicate the impact of supply chain issues to senior leaders.

This course will provide a comprehensive overview of how finance impacts supply management. You will focus on practical accounting and financial skills by learning the basic terminology for accounting and finance in supply management. Additionally, the principles of accounting and budgeting and using key ratios to interpret financial information will be introduced.

In order to understand the context for numerical analysis, some background and theory of business operations will be covered. You will also gain an understanding of how supply management practitioners make a business case for an investment and evaluate investment opportunities.
