Course Description

In this introductory course, you'll learn about a variety of building components including exterior and building envelopes, interior components such as mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems, finishes, partitions and other fixtures. You'll examine the impacts of life cycle costing in sustainable construction as well as types of buildings, materials and systems that contribute to the building's performance. You'll also learn about rating and environmental certification programs, green construction practices, standards and implications for new and existing buildings.
