This Blockchain Architecture training course is for tech leaders who need to make decisions about architecture, environment, and development platforms. Through 24 hours of instructor-led virtual instruction, you'll learn what blockchain is and how it works, types of blockchains, use cases, and how to design, develop and test a blockchain application.

This course will assist in your preparation for the Blockchain Architecture Certification exam from the Blockchain Training Alliance (BTA).

Course Outline

Blockchain is considered one of the most promising emerging technologies in the modern age, which will continue to experience exponential growth. This six-week course will prepare your leaders to become more digitally reliant. You will:

• Learn the basic principles behind blockchain
• Learn about centralized and decentralized ledgers
• Explore the benefits and drawbacks of blockchain
• Identify cryptography, proof of work and stake consensus and learn about cryptography hashing.

How is Blockchain different from what we have today
Understand the key properties of blockchain technology and how it's different from traditional technologies.

Understand the first steps in blockchain applications, how it's saving time and money, and how the technology impacts a variety of sectors.

How do I design a Blockchain application
Understand the guiding principles of blockchain technology and the technical and functional requirements needed to design a blockchain application.

How do I develop a Blockchain application
Understand how developing a blockchain application can increase data privacy and make apps more secure with its encryption technique.

How do I test a Blockchain application
Through blockchain testing approaches you'll learn and understand how a blockchain application ensures quality while maximizing risks associated with inadequate knowledge that impacts the software development process.

What are use cases for Blockchain
Understanding the practical applications of blockchain technology and the potential to disrupt your industry.

Along with pre and post-work, weekly sessions are supported with instructor-led video or face-to-face sessions.
Connect with like-minded industry leaders to share common challenges and explore innovation strategies. Industry guest speakers will share experiences of their own transformation journeys and how they overcame the impediments they faced.
Ongoing support between the virtual sessions is available to provide guidance and direction as you utilize the tools and frameworks in your organization.

- This course is delivered over 6 weeks via weekly virtual sessions of approximately 4 hours each
- In addition, there is project work which will vary, week to week and attendee to attendee
- Total time commitment of 24 hours
- Leaders have the opportunity to connect with the instructor to discuss specific questions related to the course and project

Schedule: 
This course will be delivered virtually using MS Teams/Zoom & Brightspace/D2L. MS Teams/Zoom sessions will be held on Thursdays between March 17 and April 21 from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm.
