CNST 023 - Mass Timber Products and Systems
Course Description
"Mass timber" refers to engineered wood products designed for load-bearing structures, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional construction materials like concrete and steel. Its popularity is increasing in Canada for modern building projects aligning with environmental goals and architectural trends.
Does the topic of mass timber keep coming up at work? Are you curious about it and need to know more? Our 30-hour introductory course will give you a comprehensive overview of these innovative, sustainable building materials. You'll learn more about the manufacturing process, the various building systems made from them, using these materials and systems in construction and more.
Delivered in an engaging, self-directed online learning environment, you'll work through interactive modular content and explore a wealth of resources, including informative articles, videos and in-depth case studies. Our industry-experienced instructors will be available throughout the course to support you and respond to your questions via email.
Successful completion of this course will prepare you for our next course, CNST-034 Sustainable Mass Timber Construction, which focuses on sustainable forestry practices, the supply chain of resources for producing mass timber, mass timber construction project management planning and more.
Note: Registration for this course closes two days before the course start date.
