Course Description

In this course, you will examine the major RF transmission systems used in the media and broadcasting industry. Topics include:

•    radio frequency communication fundamentals
•    topology of broadcast transmitter systems
•    AM, FM and Digital TV transmission
•    microwave technology as applied to television and video production
•    satellite systems as applied to television
•    broadcast transmitter site design
•    RF safety practices

You'll learn about fundamental theories of radio frequency and communication. You'll develop an understanding of both analog and digital modulation techniques used in media production and broadcast transmission. This course also explores how radio and television signals are made and broadcast over the air. Finally, you'll learn important information about safety practices when working with RF, including grounding for high-power transmitters.
