Frequently asked questions

A digital badge is a visual, verifiable, and shareable asset you can use to share your learning achievement or credential. More than just a visual recognition, digital badges add credibility by linking to metadata that provides context and verification for your credential, detailing your achievement, what you did to earn it, and details on where you earned it.

In short, digital badges are a trusted and easily verifiable way to showcase your skills and stand out.

You can earn a SAITMicro digital badge by achieving a high academic standing in one of the micro-credential courses offered by SAIT. Under each course description, the required minimum letter grade that must be achieved in order to be issued the digital badge is specified. The minimum letter grade assigned depends on the course and is based on the SAIT grading system:

Percentage         Letter
90-100                  A+
85-89                    A
80-84                    A-
77-79                    B+
73-76                    B
70-72                    B-
67-69                    C+
63-66                    C
60-62                    C-
55-59                    D+
50-54                    D
0-49                      F

Note: A “D” grade is the minimal pass for a course at SAIT. External regulatory bodies may require a higher passing grade in specific courses in order for students to attain recognition or certification from those bodies.

When you successfully complete a SAITMicro course with high academic standing, you will receive an email from Credly with steps to claim your digital badge and set up your account. From there, you can then easily share your badge across the Internet – post it on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter, embed it on your website and in your email signature, link to it on your resume, and add it to your business card.

SAIT has partnered with Credly, an industry-leading platform for digital credentials. This secure platform allows you to share the badges you earn with your network for ultimate recognition of your achievement.
