Communication challenges show up everywhere at work, from everyday conversations and meetings to virtual collaboration, and difficult discussions. How you communicate directly affects relationships, results, and professional credibility.

Communicating Effectively is designed for working professionals who want to communicate more clearly and effectively in today’s diverse workplace.  In this SAIT Micro-credential course, you'll explore the fundamentals of workplace communication, including verbal and non‑verbal techniques, active listening, and storytelling. You’ll also examine how communication shapes performance, collaboration, and inclusion across in‑person, remote, and hybrid environments.

The course emphasizes applied learning through exercises, discussion, and real‑world examples. You’ll practice engaging in meaningful conversations, delivering clear and purposeful messages, and navigating challenging or sensitive communication situations. You’ll also explore inclusive communication strategies, effective virtual meeting practices, and the evolving role of digital tools, social media, and AI in workplace communication.

By the end of this course, you’ll be able to design and deliver effective communications, build rapport and professional relationships, and adapt your communication style to support collaboration and engagement across modern workplaces.
