Overview

Learn and earn in Calgary, Alberta, Canada! Develop Product Management know-how to develop, market and deliver successful products and services and keep customers coming back. Get work-ready with our Professional Certificate – Product Management program—one of our new, in-person, classroom-based Non-Credit Professional Certificate Programs for International Student.

In this program, you’ll focus on executing the product life cycle, from conception to retirement. You’ll acquire skills in product discovery, vision and strategy, analytics and develop the leadership to build, launch and maintain innovative products and customer bases. The program prepares you to conduct user and market research to identify problems, create a hypothesis and ideate solutions. You'll explore prototyping techniques to test a product’s viability, value, feasibility and usability. You'll also discuss the morality of these ideas. You’ll dive into Product Marketing concepts and tools to create a go-to-market strategy launch plan for your product and learn to proactively retain your customers through Customer Success Management by creating a customer retention plan.

Product Management focuses on the strategic direction of a product, from ideation to launch, throughout its lifecycle. Project Management, on the other hand, focuses on the tactical execution of a specific project, such as building a new website, launching a new marketing campaign or implementing a new software system.

This unique program is designed to empower early to mid-career professionals to upskill or discover new career opportunities in an increasingly digital world. Previous technical or marketing experience is not required but a curious mindset and willingness to apply yourself fully during this project-based program are essential for an effective learning experience.

This program will prepare you for career opportunities in these occupations: Account Manager, Manager of Customer Success, Marketing Manager, Product Manager, Product Marketer. The average starting salary for these or closely related occupations may average $56,000 Cdn to $81,000 Cdn per year and will vary depending on the Canadian city and company.

Learn more about these roles in our SAIT Careers Podcast:

As SAIT is a public institution, international students may be eligible for the Post-Graduation Work Permit upon completion of their program(s). You may be eligible for a PGWP depending on when you applied into this program. Professional Certificate programs do not qualify students for the Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS) under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP). The government is regularly making changes to the PGWP program so make sure you check the IRCC website regularly or email coned.international@sait.ca for clarity.

This one-year program is delivered over two consecutive semesters. We offer three intakes (Fall, Winter, and Spring starts) of this program every year. Courses are scheduled in two different time blocks: 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm or 5 pm to 9 pm. A Survey will be sent to students that have confirmed their Study Visa is in place, to ask your time preference. Requests will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please note: We will make every effort to schedule you in your requested time slot, however, based on capacity and a number of other factors, we are not able to guarantee that your requested time slot will be granted.
