2 Courses Required

Fifth Class prepares you to take the Provincial Fifth Class Power Engineering exam or the equivalent low-pressure heating plant certificate provincial exam.

Provinces may recommend this course as study material for heating plant certificate examinations other than Fifth Class. In Alberta, this course credits six-months work experience. If you are outside of Alberta, please contact your local boiler branch for more information regarding government certification.

Career Opportunities

Taking this Fifth Class Power Engineering training is a starting point into a Power Engineering career. Once you have completed both the Theory and the Lab portion (or 6 months of related experience) explore your career opportunities as an operator in a power plant or heating plant such as in hospitals, hotels, schools, office buildings or apartment buildings.
