Course Description

Give yourself a pat on the back – you're now into the second half of the Construction Estimating and Bid Preparation Certificate of Achievement program. Continue your learning progression with a focus on construction estimating bids and contracts.

In this 20-hour online course guided by an industry-trained instructor, you'll explore different construction contract types and their functions. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of the distinctions between residential, commercial, civil and industrial construction documents, as well as the role and significance of specifications and drawings. You'll also look at the bid process, learning how to accurately formulate bids for various projects and review Requests for Proposals (RFPs).

You’ll enjoy fresh, interactive modular learning content with tools and resources that can be immediately applied to real-world projects and gain hands-on experience using Bluebeam construction software while completing coursework and assessments. Additionally, you'll have the option to join in weekly one-hour virtual drop-in sessions with your instructor and peers to further enrich your learning experience. By the end of the course, you’ll be equipped to analyze bid documents, conduct rejected bid analyses and understand the overall tendering process for both government and private contracts. You'll also be ready to tackle the next advanced course: ESTM-007: Commercial Construction Estimating.
