Course Description
Organizations today are searching for adaptable, self-aware professionals capable of guiding teams and confidently navigating change. Are you ready to become the skilled leader they need?
This two-day, in-person course invites you to embark on your leadership development journey by focusing on your growth, values and unique potential as a leader. As an engaging foundational experience, it serves as an excellent starting point for mastering leadership skills through subsequent courses in our new Emerging Leaders Certificate of Completion.
Led by an expert instructor at our conveniently located SAIT Calgary campus, this course brings together like-minded peers to navigate the complexities of leadership. Through dynamic discussions, interactive exercises and peer collaboration, you’ll explore essential topics such as understanding personal drivers, applying the Stages of Competency model and crafting a unique leadership brand. With the popular Lumina Spark self-assessment tool, you'll gain deeper insights into your personality that directly support your leadership development. In addition to class-based instruction, you'll have access to supplementary content and resources through your online portal to enhance your learning.
By the end of this course, you’ll gain deeper self-awareness and practical tools to lead with purpose and grow into an impactful, sought-after leader.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, you’ll be able to:
- develop strategies that will help you adapt to the pressures and responsibilities associated with transitioning to a leadership role
- apply the Four Stages of Competence Model and other strategies to navigate skill development with self-awareness
- articulate your drivers for transitioning into a leadership role
- define leadership success in alignment with your personal drivers
- develop deeper self-awareness and strategies to succeed in workplace transitions and different environments by discovering and recognizing personal traits and behaviours
- outline practical actions for improved communication, leadership and job satisfaction.
