LDSH 046 - Productive Conflict
Course Description
Conflict in the workplace is inevitable, but how you handle it can define your success as a leader. Learn how to turn challenging situations into opportunities for growth and collaboration with our two-day, in-person managing conflict and collaboration course.
Part of our new Emerging Leaders Certificate of Completion, this interactive course builds on the foundation established in LDSH 041 - Leading Self and subsequent courses. It equips you with the tools to confidently manage workplace conflict while fostering collaboration.
Led by an expert instructor at our SAIT Calgary campus, this course will take you through the dynamics of conflict as you analyze its causes, uncover personal beliefs and evaluate effective resolution strategies. Through engaging discussions and practical exercises, you’ll explore how stress and emotions influence conflict, identify personal triggers and learn resilience-building techniques to expand your ability to lead under pressure. You'll learn how diversity adds complexity to conflict and practice communication strategies like active listening and collaborative tone setting to enhance understanding and rapport. You'll also learn about the five-step interest-based conflict resolution model, providing a structured approach to resolving disputes productively. In addition to classroom activities, you'll access supplementary content through your online portal to enhance your learning experience.
By the end, you’ll develop a personalized Conflict Action Plan, equipping you with actionable strategies to navigate future challenges effectively.
