In Canadian workplaces and communities, the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) are more important than ever. It's widely recognized that embracing EDI has a profound impact on our quality of life and work. Therefore, it's essential to continue learning, encouraging and championing inclusive leadership and advocacy skills. When you approach your interactions with colleagues and community members with care, empathy and respect, you make a tangible difference in everyone's success.
As you move through this course, you’ll learn practical and insightful approaches and strategies to advance EDI in your workplace and communities. You'll explore important concepts and principles, EDI best practices and real-world ways to develop tools and strategies to advance inclusion and equity in your workplace and community.

Upon completion of this course, you'll be able to:
- describe key concepts and approaches related to equity, diversity and inclusion in the workplace
- examine strategies and behaviours to mitigate biases, stereotypes and microaggressions
- describe principles and approaches of intersectionality and inclusion in the workplace
- describe the impacts of ableism and strategies for inclusion in the workplace
- outline key terms and concepts within the 2SLGTBQ+ community
- apply strategies and approaches for turning allyship into action
- examine the purpose and benefits of truth and reconciliation and implement their approaches and practices in workplaces
- apply strategies and approaches for moving towards racial equity and anti-racism.
