Course Description

This course explores in-depth design considerations when integrating high performance principles into new or existing designs. You'll also discuss alternate assemblies, materials, mechanical systems and penetration details.

Learner Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, you'll be able to:

  • explain the advantages of holistic and integrated design
  • explain how building form factor impacts performance
  • outline the components of high-performance envelope systems and their functions
  • explore zero lot line considerations for high performance homes

Schedule: 
Participants will complete 10 hours of online, independent study supplemented with 6 hours of live virtual learning sessions with the instructor and other students. These virtual sessions are mandatory and will be delivered using Zoom & Brightspace/D2L and are very interactive. Zoom sessions will be held on Thursdays between March 18th and April 14th , from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm. We encourage you to use your webcam and microphone to contribute to a more collaborative learning experience.
