This course explores how to apply and properly detail control layers in wall assemblies. Students will review common products used in detailing of high-performance residential construction and will learn through demonstration and online interactive activities how to maintain optimum air and water control in the detailing of typical envelope penetrations. They will also be introduced through demonstration how to complete a blower door test to verify building air tightness and locate and correct sources of air leakage.
