Course Description

This course defines artificial lift and describes the reasons for artificial lift in oil and gas wells. Common artificial lift systems (beam pumps, gas lift, progressive cavity and submersible pumps) are described, along with the advantages and disadvantages of each system. Optimization of beam pumping systems is explained.
