PROJ 024 - Executing and Closing Projects
Course Description
Understanding how to effectively execute and close projects goes beyond just completing tasks; it's about turning visions into reality, driving growth and innovation and making a lasting impact. Get the essential tips, tools and techniques for excellence in executing and closing your projects.
This 21-hour project execution course, based on the latest Project Management Institute’s (PMI®) A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide), focuses on effectively leading the various components of a project as it is executed to maximize overall delivered value. Learn to use common processes for performing high-quality work and controlling changes while also using proven tools and techniques for conducting procurements, developing the project team, communicating with stakeholders and regularly measuring project performance. Additionally, to ensure project risk is diligently managed, you’ll explore common tools and techniques for regular risk monitoring and control.
Register for our online asynchronous format if you need a more flexible, independent approach to learning. Register for our in-person, classroom-based or virtual options if you prefer learning in a social setting. Regardless of format, you'll get access to engaging online content and assessments and tap into the expert guidance of our industry-trained instructor who will ensure you get the most from this applied learning experience. This course is part of the Project Management Certificate of Completion.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, you’ll be able to:
- use optimized project processes to perform high-quality project work and enhance team performance
- communicate effectively with project stakeholders throughout the life cycle of the project using proven techniques for information management
- apply proven methods for conducting project procurements and controlling risk
- use best practice processes to control new work and changes on a project
- apply a balanced set of metrics to assess, adjust and optimize project performance
- employ a proven process to close your project properly.
You’ll demonstrate your skill and knowledge acquisition through four assignments. All coursework must be completed as per the course schedule and no later than the course end date.

This course qualifies for the SAITMicro badge. Students who successfully complete this course with a final grade of A- (80%) or higher will earn a micro-credential and receive a shareable digital badge. Learn more.

You’ll also be able to self-print a proof of completion document from your Continuing Education student account. There is also the opportunity to earn a SAITMicro digital badge, if you have met the earning criteria. Complete all courses required for the Project Management Certificate of Completion to receive your SAIT certificate credential.
This course may be used toward educational prerequisites for attaining PMI certifications or toward professional development units (PDUs) to maintain certifications. Additional education, exams and/or work experience requirements may apply.
