Overview

Are you looking to study in Calgary, Alberta and develop highly sought-after Construction Management skills to manage construction projects? Get work-ready with our Professional Certificate – Construction Management program—one of our new, in-person, classroom-based Non-Credit Professional Certificate Programs for International Students developed to shape your foundational technical and managerial skills for advancement in the Canadian construction industry.

This program will help you develop required skills and competencies to oversee all logistics of an energy-efficient construction project. You’ll gain leading industry knowledge of building science principles, metrics for verifying performance, and prevailing rating and verification systems. You’ll learn about residential design and construction principles, methods and technologies for building high-performance homes. You’ll learn to analyze costs and prepare precise estimates for various construction projects and gain the knowledge, communication and technical skills to interpret and quantify information in construction contract documents to deliver accurate construction project estimates.

 

Whether you're a recent hire in the construction industry or aiming for a career in Construction Management, our program will equip you with the technical and managerial skills necessary to professionally manage construction projects. You don't need any prior formal training or experience to benefit from this program.

This program will prepare you for career opportunities in these occupations: Construction Contractor, Construction Estimator, Construction Manager. Upon successful completion of this program, you’ll receive:

  • SAIT Professional Certificate – Construction Management credential
  • SAIT micro-credential (SAITMicro) digital badge for each eligible course in the program

Some courses included in the program may be eligible for training credits or professional development units toward industry certifications. Additional education, exams or work experience requirements may apply.

The Professional Certificate – Construction Management program is only available for International Students and can be taken as one program (for a one-year study period) or ideally, with another of our one-year International Professional Certificates programs, for a total study period of two years. As SAIT is a public institution, students may be eligible for the Post-Graduation Work Permit upon completion of their program(s). 

This one-year program is delivered over two consecutive terms. We offer two intakes (Fall & Winter starts) of this program every year. Check this page regularly for new scheduled dates.

Semester 2: January 6 to April 30, 2025

Note:  There may be a few slots available for those that already have a Study Visa.

Winter 2025 - Program

Semester 1: January 6 to April 25, 2025
Semester 2: May 5 to August 15, 2025

Note: We are only accepting new applications for this program from applicants that already have a Study. Visa.

 

Spring 2025 - Program: not currently available for registration

Semester 1: May 5 to August 15, 2025
Semester 2: September 2 to December 19, 2025

  • The above is an estimate as of February 2024. Mandatory fees are subject to change. Please refer to your Continuing Education Student account for the exact amount you are required to pay.

    *For students taking two Professional Certificate programs, the tuition deadline for the first term of your second program will be three weeks before the Term 1 start date. As students in their second program do not pay a tuition deposit, Term 1 tuition for these students is $9,180.
