Course Description

Automation's reach in today’s media and entertainment industry is ever-growing. To be successful in this field, you'll need an understanding of the core systems and workflows of multiple entertainment areas while also recognizing the many legacy systems that are still used due to large implementation costs. Gain a foundational understanding of automation technologies and concepts to control and deliver content in the wide and varied field of entertainment. In this course, you'll explore the components and workflows in typical areas of delivery, including television, master control systems, radio, news production and live events.

Learner Outcomes

Upon completing this course, you will understand:


• the evolution of entertainment automation
• the language of broadcasters and live events
• cabling types, terminations and standards of communication
• analyzing the workflows of a news station, a master control, a radio station and a live event
• signal monitoring and Quality Control (QC).
