Course Description

This course helps you understand cloud-based data storage and ingestion. You will explore partitioning strategies, data serving layers, and physical and logical structures of a data solution. You will also learn to run interactive queries using cloud analytics serverless SQL and explore computer and storage options in a cloud-based data environment.

Learner Outcomes

Upon completing this course, you will know how to:

  • perform initial exploration of data flow architecture in Azure

  • execute interactive queries using Synapse Analytics serverless SQL Pools

  • transform data using Azure Databricks

  • use Azure Data Factory (ADF) to design, build, and execute a data job.

This course will be delivered virtually using MS Teams & Brightspace/D2L. MS Teams sessions will be held every Tuesday and Thursday beginning February 4, 2025 and ending March 13, 2025, from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
